The Power of Stories for Social Media Students will learn effective ways to use artful stories to inspire and guide their organizations. Share your knowledge and wisdom through compelling stories and learn powerful ways of branding your organization through effective storytelling. Learn specific techniques for drawing audiences into your programs. Gain a clear understanding of stories as one of the most powerful marketing tools for non-profits.
Marketing Strategy Development for Social Media
Public Relations Strategy Development for Social Media Learn the importance of strategy in developing public relations plans and in implementing and managing public relations activities. This class explores practical ways in which a PR strategy can be created, and how public relations can become an integral part of an organizations social media strategy. Students develop their strategic thinking, understand the PR planning cycle, and learn ways to apply public relations to the organization's social media program.

Setting up Social Media Apps: Step-by-Step In this workshop, instructor, Marianna Moneymaker, will walk through the essential steps to establishing and managing a successful social media presence for your nonprofit. Mari will share lessons learned from developing Witness's social media platform. Get practical how-to information, learn best practices, ask questions, and leave with action items that will help you create an engaging social media presence for your organization. This workshop is for people who are beginning to explore various social media tools and have questions on how to get started.
Applying the Web to Social Media
Bringing Your Live Audience Online Learn the many different ways to directly and indirectly promote your content both online and offline. This workshop shows you how to promote your content and build your audience to have a successful social media strategy. Explore integrated marketing strategies where offline and online promotion efforts feed off of each other for both direct and indirect results. Learn how to publish content online, market that content and build relationships with your target audience at in-person events.
How To Register To enter the program, interested applicants must: - be fluent in English (written and spoken) - have a computer(or access to one) and an email address in order to receive reading materials - complete and submit VMG's Social Media Training Program Registration Form with payment
Schedules, Fees & Registration Online Training Classroom Training
Registration To register, complete and submit the Social Media Training Program Registration Form and make payment. It's that easy! There is no application process required. Registration continues till classes are full or until four business days prior to the class date. Walk-in registration on the day of class is not permitted. You may mail the form with payment to Volunteer Management Group or fax the form for faster service. Volunteer Management Group's address and fax number are on the form. Please email training (at) volunteermanagementgroup.com with questions or to confirm that the form and payment have been received.
Registration for Individual Courses Individual course registration is not permitted. Registration is only for the 8-course program. Cancellation Policy: No Refunds Registration is first come, first served. Space is limited. Due to space arrangements all payments are final. No refunds possible. Students with cancellations or having to miss a class will receive access to a recording of the class. Cancellation policy applies to online and classroom programs.
Course Status Minimum enrollment must be met for a program or course to run. When maximum enrollment for the program is reached, the program will be closed and the names of interested registrants will be put on a wait list and notified on a first come basis if an opening occurs. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Homework and Grades This is a non-credit training program. While grades will not be given, students are offered the option to meet "VMG Challenge Assignments" assigned for each course by completing the challenge and submitting work to the instructor for feedback and critique. Instructors will only review work on a timely basis at the time the course is taught (not after you finish the series).
Attendance Requirements Students are required to be professional and, for courtesy to the instructor and other students, be on time. If absence is to occur, the student is responsible for notifying VMG and requesting permission to take the class in the next session. With all rescheduling requests, the registration fee must be paid, if applicable, when registering. Each instructor maintains and submits attendance records for each class.
Completing Your Training The Social Media Training consists of completing the 8 courses listed above. Upon completion you will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by VMG. Attendance at each class is required. Partial attendance in any class does not count toward completion. Certificates will be mailed out within 4 weeks of program completion. Have more questions?
